I Want to Use the Triscend Graphic LCD Development Board.  What Else Do I Need?

The Triscend graphic LCD development board is not intended for stand-alone operation.  The interface board, pictured on the left above, plugs into an expansion slot on the E5 development platform base board.

The E5 development platform includes both the base board and the E5 daughter card that mounts on top.  The E5 device contains the graphic LCD controller for your specific passive LCD panel.  The base board has the expansion slots to support the graphic LCD interface board and the additional SRAM memory to support larger LCD displays with larger color palettes.

The graphic LCD development board does not include a passive panel because individual application needs vary so greatly.

To start your LCD development, Triscend recommends the following packages.

Part Number	Description
THW-KIT-520B	E5 Development Platform including the E5 evaluation board and the base board, plus a fully-licensed copy of FastChip.  The graphic LCD module is included with FastChip.
THW-KIT-LCD	Graphic LCD interface card.  Plugs into E5 development platform board.
Triscend Software Development Kit	Contains graphic LCD software toolbox and tutorial.  Downloadable from the Triscend web site.
Your Passive LCD Panel	Because application needs vary, the LCD development board does not include a panel.  The board has sockets that support commonly used panels and connections to support a wider variety.  See article #29358.
